Bristol Closes up Store

On July 31, 2018, US company Bristol Compressors announced its intention to terminate its business operations and begin a wind-down process immediately. Due to bankruptcy proceedings, the company has decided to stop production in Virginia, USA, in two months at the latest. 470 people will lose their jobs, but Bristol will help them find new jobs.

History

Bristol Compressors (founded 1974) has produced approx. 5 million fully hermetic scroll and reciprocating compressors for refrigeration machines and heat pumps in the power range from 4 to 70 kW per year. The modern production facilities are located on an area of 65,000 m2, the large distribution warehouse occupies 18,000 m2 and enables smooth logistics for global sales.

Bristol Compressors are available in all common voltages at 50/60 Hz and have been developed for refrigerants R22, R407C, R134a and R404A. Energy-efficient, environmentally friendly Bristol compressors impress with their compact and hermetic design, high efficiency, mechanical strength, reliability and long service life. Bristol product range complies with US and European guidelines and has the following certifications: Quality Management System Standard ISO 9001, ISO 14001-2004, SIWP and PED certificates.
