Kelvion Air Cooler KCB-202-4BE-FX32-2 – 1.35 kW for A1, A2L & A3
The Kelvion KCB-202-4BE-FX32-2 is a compact ceiling-mounted air cooler designed for professional use in commercial and cold-room refrigeration applications. With a nominal cooling capacity of 1.35 kW, two energy-efficient EC fans and an air flow rate of 640 m³/h, the air cooler is suitable for small and medium-sized cold rooms as well as comparable refrigeration applications.
The modern FX32 multi-gas version extends the range of application to refrigerants in safety classes A1, A2L and A3. This means the air cooler can be used both in traditional systems and in modern refrigeration systems using, for example, R290.

Multi-gas air cooler for modern refrigeration systems
With the FX32 version, Kelvion has designed the KCB series to meet current and future requirements in refrigeration technology. In addition to traditional A1 refrigerants, A2L and A3 refrigerants can also be used.
The KCB-202-4BE-FX32-2 therefore offers system integrators and specialist refrigeration contractors in particular greater flexibility when planning new systems and using alternative refrigerants. The maximum permissible operating pressure is 32 bar.
2 EC fans for even air distribution
The air cooler is fitted with two EC fans, each with a diameter of 200 mm. At a speed of 1,310 rpm, the unit generates an air flow rate of 640 m³/h.
The integrated air deflector ensures even air distribution within the cold room. The specified throw distance is up to 6 m.
Integrated electric defrost
For use at low evaporation temperatures, the KCB-202-4BE-FX32-2 features an electric block defrost system with a heating capacity of 0.38 kW. This allows ice build-up on the heat exchanger to be specifically removed whilst the system is in operation.
For deep-freeze applications, it should be checked, depending on the operating conditions, whether additional defrost heating capacity is required.
7 mm fin spacing for refrigeration applications
The heat exchanger has a fin spacing of 7 mm and a heat transfer area of 3.6 m². The wider fin spacing is particularly suitable for applications with low evaporation temperatures, where frost formation on the heat exchanger is to be expected.

Note on capacity specifications
The specified nominal cooling capacity of 1.35 kW refers to operation with R454C at an evaporation temperature t₀ of -8 °C and ΔT1 = 8 K. The cooling capacity actually achievable depends on the refrigerant used, as well as the respective evaporation, ambient and operating conditions.

Deep-freeze applications
When used in deep-freeze applications, it should be checked whether the standard defrosting capacity of 0.38 kW is sufficient or whether additional defrosting heating capacity is required.
