Leak Lock 39 ml – plastic sealant for threads and sealing surfaces
Product description
Leak Lock is a high-quality, plastic sealant for sealing threaded joints, flanged joints, sealing surfaces and mating surfaces. The viscous, spreadable paste adheres to clean surfaces, fills small voids and, once the parts are joined, forms a chemically resistant, flexible and liquid-tight seal.
The sealant is suitable for many applications in refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation technology, in plant engineering, and for technical pipe and bolted joints. Leak Lock remains permanently elastic, does not become brittle and can be used even under vibrations, temperature fluctuations and in pressure and vacuum applications.
Your benefits
- For sealing threads, flanges and sealing surfaces
- Remains flexible and does not become brittle
- Suitable for pressure and vacuum applications
- Wide temperature range from -129 °C to +204 °C
- Pressure-resistant up to approx. 690 bar
- Adheres to clean metal and plastic surfaces
- Resistant to many refrigerants, oils, water, gases and chemicals
- Helps prevent nuts, bolts, plugs and fittings from coming loose due to vibrations
- Handy 39 ml tube for servicing, assembly and workshop use
Typical applications
Leak Lock is used wherever threaded or sealing surfaces need to be sealed permanently and flexibly. This includes, amongst other things, screw connections, flange surfaces, gaskets, fittings, plugs, valves and contact surfaces between different materials.
Leak Lock is particularly well known in the refrigeration and air-conditioning sectors as a sealing paste for selected service and installation work. For suitable connections, it can help to reduce moisture ingress into threaded areas and provide a flexible seal against refrigerants, oil or industrial gases.
Suitable materials
Leak Lock can be used on many clean metal and plastic surfaces. These include, amongst others, aluminium, aluminium alloys, cast iron, copper, copper alloys, brass, bronze, magnesium alloys, carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanised surfaces, PVC, CPVC, ABS, fibreglass, black polypropylene and Kynar.
Application
- Thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces and remove any dust, oil and grease.
- Apply Leak Lock to both contact surfaces using a brush, spatula or suitable applicator.
- Allow to flash off briefly to allow initial adhesion to develop.
- Assemble the joint and tighten to the correct torque.
- Observe the curing or load-bearing time, which depends on the pipe size, material and ambient temperature.
Important notes
Leak Lock is not recommended for use with alcohols. Alcohol-based cleaners may be used for pre-cleaning, but must be allowed to evaporate completely before application. For unwanted contamination, a suitable cleaning agent may be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Leak Lock should not be applied indiscriminately to every joint. It is not recommended for use on pre-charged quick-connect refrigeration lines in air-conditioning systems. The decisive factors are always the type of joint, the manufacturer’s specifications and the specific application. Why Leak Lock?
Why Leak Lock?
Leak Lock is a practical solution when a sealant that remains flexible is required for threads, flanges and sealing surfaces. Thanks to its high chemical resistance, wide temperature range and suitability for vacuum and pressure applications, the paste is particularly well-suited for use in the assembly, servicing and repair of technical systems.
Leak Lock 39 ml is a plastic thread sealant for refrigeration, air-conditioning, ventilation and industrial applications. This flexible sealing paste is suitable for many metals and plastics, is resistant to numerous refrigerants, oils, water and technical gases, and can be used for threaded connections, flange surfaces, sealing surfaces and mating surfaces.
