The oil separator with integrated oil collector is designed to separate and recover the oil carried by the refrigerant in its vapour phase at the compressor outlet in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It limits the amount of oil in the refrigeration circuit, increases the performance of the heat exchangers and prevents high wear and compressor damage due to missing oil.

Technical details

  • Maximum operating pressure 140 bar.
  • The TURBOIL® oil separators must be used in applications where oil return via the suction line cannot be guaranteed: Systems with long pipe runs, oil inclusions, with evaporation temperatures lower than - 5 °C, with compressors connected in parallel, or with adjustable speeds, in systems with multiple compressor levels such as cascades, flooded systems, booster systems, etc.
  • They ensure a controlled oil return to the compressor crankcases and reduce the vibrations and pulsations caused by the compressors thanks to their position in the circuit.
  • The reliability and efficiency of the TURBOIL oil separators are guaranteed by a multi-stage oil separation system patented by CARLY: Centrifugation by spiral movement through one or more spirals, filtration by the wire-like structure of the spirals, by abrupt change of speed by increasing the flow rate at the inlet of the separator, by abrupt change of direction, inlet of the mixture from the top, outlet of the refrigerant from the side at the top, and outlet of the oil from the side at the bottom.
  • Much lower pressure loss compared to an oil separator equipped with a coalescing filter.
  • No special maintenance requirements, as no regular replacement of a coalescence filter is necessary.
  • The internal baffle plate prevents the refrigerant from absorbing oil again.
