Sight glass Carly VCYLS 11 for soldering to pipes of 1 3/8"
Functional features:
- The products are compatible with CHCs, CFCs, HFCs, CO2, as well as their oils and associated additives. They are designed for use with non-hazardous refrigerants of group 2 of PED 2014/68/EU. For the use of CARLY components with Group 1 fluids of the hydrocarbon type - propane R290, butane R600, isobutane R600a, propylene R1270 - with HFCs and transcritical CO2 and for an application of organic cycle of RANKINE, please contact CARLY technical service.
- The classification of products according to their nominal size in EC categories is shown in the table of PED 2014/68/EU.
- Monitoring of the refrigerant condition in the liquid line by means of a large inspection window. The possible presence of bubbles in the refrigerant is visualised by the VCYL and, in addition to a lack of refrigerant, can have various causes such as too low or no subcooling, high pressure loss through the filter drier, which in this case must be replaced immediately.
- A reliable hygroscopic indicator that reacts to moisture and is resistant to acid is positioned under the sight glass.
- Moisture is indicated by a colour change of the indicator (green = refrigerant dry, yellow = refrigerant too moist) The continuous indication is tried and tested, as is the reversible colour change. It is very important to check the moisture content of the refrigerant in order to avoid the formation of acid, which is detrimental to the proper functioning of the system.
- The sight glass consists of three parts:
- a brass plate, which is soldered directly onto the pipework after it has been drilled.
- a sight glass with moisture indicator, which is screwed onto the plate.
- an O-ring seal made of PTFE, which ensures tightness between the plate and sight glass.

- For quick and direct monitoring of the flow rate, condition and moisture content of the refrigerant in liquid or two-phase state in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
