Zanussi Elettromeccanica Tianjin Compressor Co., Ltd. (ZEL) is a leading manufacturer of hermetic compressors based in Tianjin, China. Founded in the 1960s, ZEL established itself as a pioneer in the production of refrigerant compressors for the domestic sector. In 1987, the company became a licensee of Zanussi Elettromeccanica of Italy and emerged in 1993 as the first globally operating joint venture in the domestic compressor sector. The strategic partnership with ACC gave ZEL access to advanced technologies and production facilities that are regarded as the benchmark for quality in the industry. In 2013, Beijing Zhenbang Aerospace Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. acquired a majority stake, leading to significant investment in quality improvements, capacity expansion and the introduction of new high-performance products.
Product groups and specialisations:
ZEL offers a comprehensive range of fully hermetic refrigeration compressors, including the ZETA, LAMBDA and TAU series, the latter being licensed in Italy. With over 200 models, ZEL covers both the high/medium-pressure (HMBP) and low-pressure (LBP) ranges. These compressors are used in domestic refrigerators, freezers and compact commercial refrigeration systems. The compact and highly efficient compressors are designed for use with refrigerants such as R134a and R600a and operate at a supply voltage of 220–240 V/1-phase/50 Hz. ZEL places great emphasis on the durability and performance of its products and continuously strives to enhance competitiveness in terms of performance, quality and cost.
