Quite a few visitors to our homepage will be puzzled the first time they look at our homepage - everything is new. And a second look is even more suspicious: Kellermann Klima GbR became H + H Kältetechnik GmbH. We used 2015 to completely reposition ourselves. In this blog post, let me explain what is changing and why.

#1 New Company name

After 8 years as Kellermann Klima GbR, we are now transforming into H + H Kältetechnik GmbH. Anyone who knows our background knows that our company was initially started as a "side project". At the time, the GbR was the most advantageous form of company for us because it was unbureaucratic. The side project has become much more than we could foresee at the time, and as the company grew in size, our unbureaucratic form of company was always a block on the leg. With the transformation into a GmbH, we are well positioned for the future and further growth.

The Name

You won't believe how often our phone rings and people ask for "Mr. Kellermann". Some people are taken aback when they hear that it doesn't even exist. The background to the confusing name "Kellermann Klima GbR" was a private label under which we sold tools in the early days. The own brand was pulped again after approx. 18 months - the company name remained. In order to clear up the confusion in the future, the new company name simply bears the initials of the two partners Hendrik Homann and André Hellenkamp. Not more. And you can choose which H stands for Hellenkamp and which for Homann :-) .

#2 New Website

About 4 years have passed since our last relaunch. It's been an eternity on the Internet and we were often smiled at us tiredly by people from the IT group for our online shop, because it was quite old. "We sell refrigeration technology and not websites" was our standard reaction to this, and yet over the years there have been more and more aspects that we wanted to improve. And we have now taken up all of these:

A) better Category views

E-commerce websites are still mainly geared towards fashion and technology. In the course of the last few years, shaped by the pioneers eBay and Amazon, two things have prevailed: On the one hand the "list view" with a list of products one below the other, the product photo on the left and relevant information such as the product name and the price on the right. And on the other hand, the "gallery view", with large product photos right next to each other. This is also very helpful for fashion, shoes and consumer electronics, the products that are mainly sold on the Internet, because appearance usually plays a major role here and the rest is secondary. In the case of refrigeration technology, however, it is not expedient. Or do you buy your compressors by appearance? By color?

We believe: When selling refrigeration technology, technical attributes play a role above all. For the installing fitter, what is particularly relevant when choosing a product is, for example, the refrigeration capacity of a certain compressor compared to another model, which connections the device has, etc. We have therefore initially defined the relevant product attributes for each category over months of work for the product group and then manually collected this data. The result is a new category view that allows relevant product properties to be compared quickly and clearly, to filter according to certain properties and, moreover, to quickly add items to the shopping cart. The aim of the development was to significantly accelerate the process of product selection for you as a user and to ensure that the purchasing process takes less time overall.

B) better Delivery Time information

We know: in the cold, time is money. We have therefore optimized all of our processes so that delivery time information is displayed more quickly and transparently. In the future, you will be able to see an expected delivery date for our products and also have direct access to options such as express delivery and other subtleties. Since we want to adhere to the information we provide here, some of these processes are currently still being tested and have not yet been activated.

C) Customer Ratings

After the purchase, you have the opportunity to rate the products you have purchased and thus share your experience with other interested parties.

D) Data sheets for more extensive product information

You can now download a data sheet for each product. In addition, we have significantly improved the majority of the product descriptions and are consistently working on further improving the product information and offering you more extensive information and more products.

E) Menu Navigation

With the expansion of our range, the list of our categories has become considerably too long. We have now shortened this to a few basic categories and provided them with simple images so that you can find the right product quickly and easily - whether via the search or the categories.

F) Blog

You have it in front of you: We are blogging now! You will find regular and current information about refrigeration technology, industry news, tool comparisons and, last but not least, more information about us and our company in our blog. We look forward to exchanging ideas with you!

G) Design

Last but not least, we of course used the relaunch to bring our design up to date. In the course of the next few weeks we will also update the mobile versions.

#3 New inventory management

In addition to the relaunch of the website, our new merchandise management system will also ensure significant improvements. Thanks to modern structured processes, we are now able, for example, to create shipping notes fully automatically, to connect express shipping service providers natively and to automatically import goods from intermediate warehouses in order to provide better delivery time information. The entire price calculation is now on clean feet, so that prices that are accidentally incorrectly calculated are a thing of the past. A few of the advantages for you as an end customer:

  • More reliable warehousing: 100% scanner-based warehousing ensures an absolute minimization of shipping and inventory errors
  • Automated shipping notifications with tracking code at the time of physical goods issue
  • Native connection from DHL Express: Express deliveries with delivery at 9:00, 10:00 and 12:00, deliveries on Sundays and public holidays are now also possible. Contact us for details.
  • Improved delivery time information
  • better-humored employees on our side, thanks to a well-functioning inventory management system :-)

#4 The Future

The changes shown form the basis for our further steps. Thanks to a stable basis and clean processes, we are now in a position to start further innovations in the areas of customer service, product range and advice in 2016. Be curious!
