The ATC1R type-K pipe clamp thermocouple with a clamping jaw range between 3 mm and 19 mm (1/8 inch and 3/4 inch) is used to measure temperatures on pipes or other cylindrical surfaces.
The use of a pipe clamp thermocouple makes it much easier to measure overheating or undercooling. The ATC1R is suitable for use with most refrigeration units.
The ATC1R can be used with all of our measuring devices that measure temperature and all thermometers that accept a type-K thermocouple.
The sensor is virtually isolated from ambient conditions, allowing the thermocouple to measure the actual pipe temperature while attached to the pipe.
The large surface area of the sensor and the increased clamping force ensure that the sensor reaches the correct temperature within 30 seconds. As the clamping jaw is designed for HVAC use, it can be clamped to pipes that are attached to walls or other surfaces at any angle for temperature measurement.
